Wedding Crashers

[By Legally Blonde] I was in the San Francisco Bay area for work last week. The first day I arrived, I went to our offices in Menlo Park for meetings, but I had to get back into San Francisco for dinner that evening. So the office manager reserved the firm car service to come pick me up. I had a pretty bad headache and had planned to use the 45 minutes in the car as a quiet respite before my dinner engagement. Little did I know that I would be attending a wedding.

I know this is not the greatest picture, but if you will humor me and look at the screen on the dash where the GPS should be. Friends – that’s a video screen and DVD player. At the outset of the ride, it displayed a still head shot of my driver.

But as we merged onto the 101, he pushed the play button and we were transported to India where he had recently gotten married. So instead of getting some shut eye during the drive, I watched his wedding video while he provided full commentary pointing out his bride, his parents, siblings, friends who traveled far, friends who lived near, his favorite foods, drinks, dances, dance partners and so on. And if you’re wondering whether the video was long enough to play the entire time from Silicon Valley to San Francisco, the answer is yes – his wedding party lasted for three days!
