Leap of Faith Friday #4

Welcome to our fourth week in the Leap of Faith Friday series. Spoiler alert: I'm introducing audio. You may want to lower the volume, locate some earplugs and proceed with caution...

I am increasingly intrigued with the idea of how much a mom gets done in her car. Multi-tasking, changing kids' clothes, delivering children, grabbing dinner through a window somewhere, catching up on phone calls with friends, enjoying some silence, talking to herself, responding to herself, running late, keeping others on time, singing as loud as she'll ever sing.

A lot happens in the car.

So despite the unabashed humiliation this brings me, I am going to offer you a glimpse of my life in the car via the first ever Chicken Fried Therapy Podcast. Take a little ride on my insanity train as I babble about cotillion, homeless people, and breakfast tacos.

I'm cringing because the following Utterz Podcast is a huge Leap of Faith for me. It's the real me...unplugged, unedited and slightly unhinged. Although I did refrain from using any expletives -- and that's tough for me. Push PLAY to listen:

Here a few gratuitous pictures in case the podcast was too painful for you...

It was delish....

I'm relieved now to know that 'badass' is not an expletive, phew! load off!

What a great LoFF, I've been listening to your voice for well over an hour, and you sound just as cute on your podcast as you do on the phone. I wish I could do an utterz, I'm dripping with jealousy over your coolness.

Soooo happy to know a few more things about you, such as;

-You sing really well, no joke!

-You find sensuality in homeless dudes... you are a giver!

I'm coming to Austin! I love you! Me, you and BD, need to hit the town and celebrate our leaps as a unit.... oooh, that's a really good idea!

CF that was awesome!! And yes, I would be honored to take the credit/blame for encouraging this because I was thoroughly entertained. And to hear your voice finally is so cool. It was just as I had pictured (?). You know, because of this, the “Hot Homeless Guy” may just become an internet celebrity. Someone needs to register that domain name for him and post pics. Next year, you’ll see him on Cribs.

When you described the marquees, I definitely had some big jealousy pangs. Nice post & podcast. I've enjoyed this series from all of you.

I used to see a lot of hot homeless guys around Deep Ellum back in the day. That is wierd.
Never had a breakfast taco, but love breakfast burritos.
Have a great weekend!

pinky -- that is so funny! I spent the better part of 1993 trapsing around Deep Ellum. I think that's where I lost my voice, and I never really got it back

oh heavens...deep ellum...the blind lemon, the bone, Adair's...good times

I think I may make some breakfast tacos this week. Hubby would love it. I will do them sans beans as I would hate to send him off to work armed and dangerous.
Your voice sounds like I would have expected and that is a good thing, except I was expecting a Texan accent and a ya'll or two. Hubby loves and has turned me on to Cross Canadian Ragweed. I'm telling you - he would totally leave me for you - breakfast tacos, live music, Cross Canadian Ragweed, fly fishing, sexy voice. Just kidding. He adores me, but I know he would want to be your best pal.
Texas secede. Hilarious.
Bold to put yourself out there unedited and unscripted. Cool.
KEEP BELIEVING

Great one, Christine. I was a bit worried that LoF might not have been for everyone and anyone, but I can rest assured that it is. :D My last LoF is gonna be a good one.

WOW! I loved your voice! What a great post...so excellent that it's unscripted :)

This would be a total leap of faith for me too. I don't even leave messages on answering machines because I hate my voice recorded so much!

You have one of those awesome Demi Moore-ish, scratchy voices that make me ooze with jealousy.

More, more, more podcasts!

Love your voice!!! :-)
We sound oddly similar, my daughter asked why I was talking on the computer!
Love breakfast tacos. We have the best little 'hole' down here that makes killer chorizo and egg tacos. they rock!

LMAO. Expletives would have made this a better podcast...but whatever. I will take what I can get. Color me Chicken Fried Impressed. The singing and laughing while singing is hilarious and self aware and just cool. I think a video of you making this podcast is the only thing better than you doing this podcast. The homeless guy...wtf? How is that...lol. I guess only in Austin are the homeless hot? Peace!!

Oooooh My Goodness!!!!!!!! You have the most amazing voice!!!! I am gonna write this comment and then go straight back and listen to it again at least several more times. You have been so generous as to indulge us not only with your super sexy voice in talking mode, but also in singing mode too :o)

I totally agree with Piper's comment that you ooze with coolness! It was also so interesting to listen to a piece of Texas life.... although a taco breakfast sounds kinda funny...lol! I am amazed that you go to the grocery store everyday. If I did that, I'd end up spending a fortune.

And as I now know that you find homeless guys kinda hot, if ever I come to Texas I'll be sure to not shower or shave for a few weeks beforehand ;)

CF, like those who have comment above, I think your podcast was truly awesome. But then again, I wouldn't expect anything less from you!

Thanks for making me smile. I enjoyed every second of it.

Have a wonderful week!!!

Nicely done! Utterz rocks. I call in every night on my drive home from work and drone on about nothing! It's therapeutic.

Don't expect to hear me singing anytime soon though!
